Michael Bowlds, president of Mountaintop Marketing Group and one of the federal technology community?s strongest small and minority business advocates, recently died following a fight with lung cancer.
Through his company?s Peak Series Breakfasts, Bowlds would bring together federal agency chief information officers and Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization directors along with large industry partners and system integrators to interact with small businesses.
An Air Force veteran, Bowlds founded his Silver Spring, Md.-based company in 2001, focused on helping small businesses and mature corporations attract new customers and increase sales by developing and implementing highly results-driven strategic programs.
Bowlds was named the 2011 Maryland Small Business of the Year by the Maryland Chamber of Commerce and a 2012 Minority Business Leader by the Washington Business Journal.
