Robert Ray Smith, 53, Paso Robles, California

Robert Ray Smith, 53 of Paso Robles, passed away on March 6, 2012 at his home. Robert was born in June of 1958 in Portsmouth, VA. He grew up in a military family and followed in his father's footsteps by serving in the US Navy. He was very proud of his service to his country and during his term served on 3 different aircraft carriers. He had been a resident of San Luis Obispo County for 18 years. "Let today be enough" describes Robert's easygoing manner and his ability to inspire and touch the lives of many.

Robert was employed for 18 years as a Maintenance Utility Worker for the Templeton Unified School District. He was also an assistant coach for the track team and was a constant help with the football team. Robert's family was the center of his life and he was involved with as many of their activities as he could. He enjoyed photography, especially in the sports arena and was an avid collector of sports and various other memorabilia.

Sons: Corey Smith of Salinas and Casey, Cody and Ken Smith of Paso Robles
Father: Robert E. Smith of Sun City, CA
Brother: Rick Smith of Sun City, CA
Sister: Gena (Arnold) Lozoya of Perris, CA
A much loved and extended family of in-laws, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins
Preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy

Private services will be held.
