Protesters hold 'anti-Games' near stadium

While the eyes of the world were on the first full day of competition at the London Olympics, a far smaller group was marking the "anti-Games" near the stadium on Saturday.

A few hundred protesters gathered in a party atmosphere to express their opposition to everything from corporate sponsorship of the Olympics to anger about missiles positioned on the roofs of nearby apartment blocks for the Games.

At the protest in Mile End, one subway stop from the stadium in east London, many demonstrators looked a little stunned by the sudden media attention after months of being largely ignored.

"There seem to be more cameras than protesters!" said Jean Videler, 60, equipped with a rucksack and tennis shoes, her grey hair falling to her shoulders.

The protest brought together around 40 activist groups under the banner of the "CounterOlympics Network" -- groups that had hitherto struggled to be heard above the din of the London 2012 media machine.

Some protesters were from the "Occupy London" anti-capitalist movement, or from far-left parties, united by their opposition to the multi-million-dollar sponsorship of the Games by multinationals like McDonald's and Dow Chemical.

They joined forces with local residents opposed to the placing of anti-aircraft missiles near the Olympic Stadium in Stratford to prevent any possible airborne terror attack.

As well as the new media attention, the activists also found a heavy police presence keeping watch.

A dozen motorcycle officers and two police vans were stationed at the end of the road to ensure the protesters did not get any closer to the sporting action.

John McDonnell, a lawmaker from the opposition Labour party, explained why they had come to demonstrate.

"We enjoy the sport, what we don't like is this corporate takeover that's gone on," he said.

But the atmosphere was relaxed as the protesters, ranging from pensioners to parents with young children, waited in the sun. Some shared a picnic, while others handed out leaflets.

There were even a group of ethnic Circassians in traditional dress protesting against the 2014 Winter Olympics, which will be held in Russian Black Sea resort of Sochi.

Albert Beale, 60, a spokesman for the protesters, said he was pleased with the turnout.

"Some people are here because they have been thrown out of their home for the the Olympics, some are here because they don't want to allow to have missiles on their roof," he said.

Isabel, a 60-year-old woman, brandished a hand-woven banner saying "Bugger the Olympics and the Jubilee", referring to Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee celebrating 60 years on the throne, which Britain celebrated in June.

"We are more representative of people living here," she said.

There was also a more serious banner, saying: "Stop the Olympic missiles. Don't play games with our lives."

Videler, who works as a volunteer for an environment centre, said she was disgusted by the corporate sponsorship of the Olympics.

"I felt I needed to be here to stand in solidarity," she said.

But, there is a way to stay away from all these debt- damages and the way is debt consolidation loans.

Yes! Debt consolidation loans are the alternative one to set aside all debt difficulties. With these loans, a borrower takes a separate loan that covers all his existing loans and merges it into one. It can be explained with a proper instance. Perhaps, one has taken four different loans, so he has to pay for four different loans to four different creditors. Now, with debt consolidation loans, he can consolidate all his four debts into one that he will pay only to a single creditor.

?Why should I consolidate my debts?? ?Can I get any additional advantage with it?? You may think like that. In this context, you should be aware of its benefits. These are mentioned below:

? With these loans, you can make one payment, instead of various ones. Therefore, normally the interest rate being paid for your exiting debts will be lower. So lower monthly repayment is possible. And no doubt, you can save your money for other purposes.

? It?s really irritating to handle untimely and irksome calls of various lenders. But with these loans, your deal will be going on with a single lender and it will bring back your mental peace as well.

However, debt consolidation loans are available in two forms, secured debt consolidation loans and unsecured debt consolidation loans. Like other secured loans, secured debt consolidation loans are available against a property that is used as a security against the loan amount. With these loans, you can borrow anything from ?5,000 to ?75,000. Whereas, to avail an unsecured debt consolidation loan, you need not pledge any security. You can borrow an unsecured debt consolidation loan ranging from ?5,000 to ?25,000.

All sorts of borrowers including borrowers with poor credit score like, CCJ?s, Arrears, defaults?can avail these loans very easily. It is an exclusive offer for them to recover their credit score and wave off the dark shadow of debts.

But do remember, with these loans, you can fall in debt trap once again. Then these loans can act adversely. So check your repayment capacity at first. Calculate how much do you want as a debt consolidation loan and then apply for these loans.

No doubt, all borrowers try to stay away from any sort of debt damages. In that case, debt consolidation loans work perfectly to set aside all debt related troubles.

German doctors to resume talks over Ukraine ex-PM

BERLIN (AP) ? Germany's renowned Charite hospital says three of its senior doctors will fly to Ukraine on Monday to resume talks about the treatment of the country's jailed former prime minister.

Yulia Tymoshenko was sentenced last year to seven years in prison for abuse of office while negotiating a natural gas contract with Russia in 2009.

She is currently receiving treatment for a spinal condition at a closely guarded hospital ward in the eastern city of Kharkiv.

Doctors from Berlin's Charite hospital have repeatedly visited her amid concerns that she isn't getting the proper treatment and is suffering allergic reactions to medication.

The hospital said in a statement Friday that its doctors will meet with Ukrainian physicians to again offer their assistance and resolve differences about how to proceed with her treatment.
